With our new tranny coming with a brake in it, the shift pattern will be reversed. Therefore, a different shifter with the correct pattern will be needed. A new one was gonna cost a couple of Franklins, and then we'd have this other perfectly good shifter laying around. Soooo, I did some digging, and found out that I could send ours back to Hurst Shifters for a $60 refresher, and they could retro-fit it to the correct pattern as part of the deal. This was cool.....
Yesterday, Mike from Hurst called and told me the shifter was on it's way back to Texas. I asked him if everything was OK, and he said,"yeah, I just stuck a brand new reverse pattern shifter in the mail and kept yours". This was even cooler.

A Very Special Day

Saturday, March 25th was a very special day. It was the celebration of my in-law's (Tommy & Auda Bee Wood) golden wedding anniversary. Over 120 friends & family members attended a really nice outdoor event. I can't say enough about my wife Veronica, and her brother David, who spear-headed this rodeo. These two really made it happen! Congrat's Tommy & Auda Bee, all of us here at WCR love ya'll!
That same day was a special event for myself as well. We were well into the party before I looked around and realized that ALL our kids, BOTH daughter-in-laws, BOTH of my brothers, my sister-in-law, my mother, and our grand daughter were all there.... 4 generations... count'em, FOUR generations. That folks, rarely happens nowadays. It was a great time for me!

Pulled the transmission & driveshaft out of the 'Stang yesterday, plan on removing transmission shield, cleaning up parts, and wiring up for the transbrake today.
One week down, two weeks to go.
We got to baby-sit our grand daughter for the 1st time last nite. She's a lil' doll! Does Simpson make SFI racing jackets in size "newborn to 3 months"???

Ordered the tranny/converter/bell combo yesterday... also sent off the quarter-stick back to Hurst Shifters to get retro-fitted to a reverse valve body pattern. Both items have a 3 week turn-around on 'em..... It's gonna be a long threeeeeeee weeeeeeeks![ 4 comments ] ( 44 views )
